Ponca City 2012

We just returned from our annual trip to Ponca City, Oklahoma to spend time with Chris's extended family.  This was our fifth year going, which is crazy to us because it doesn't seem like we've been going for that many years.  Obviously this was Emilee's first trip.  We took the trip up in two 4 1/2 car rides over last Monday and Tuesday.  Emilee did pretty well, only demanding one stop in the middle of each day.  We spent the rest of the week enjoying time with family on the golf course, in the water, and at various family member's houses.  I figured the least boring way to talk about the trip is through pictures with captions, so here you go:
Chris spent a couple of mornings with Uncle Dale and Granddad on the golf course.

We went and watched the fireworks- Emilee could care less about the fireworks- doesn't cry or get excited.

Emilee quickly had enough of the fireworks and fell asleep in my arms.

We spent time everyday at a pool or waterpark.  This is at Wentz pool- a cool  pool with a lot of character.

Swimming usually knocked Emilee out.  She was quite the tired girl on the trip.

Emilee met her cousin Nora.  Nora is 2 days older than Emilee.  They are rocking their sunglasses. This is the longest Emilee has worn her shades for, she normally cries when I put them on her.

On Friday we had the yearly fourth of July picnic at Great-Uncle Gordon's farm.  Emilee wore her fourth of July outfit that day.

Chris's immediate family (except G'ma and G'pa) hadn't seen Emilee since she was a month old.  They enjoyed her more now that she is active and fun to play with.  Lisana is her only girl cousin on that side.

Nora and Emilee posed for some pictures at the farm.  They kept grabbing at each other's accessories.

Emilee slept like a trooper in the pack n play in our room.  Nothing bothered her, which was nice because then we could go about life normal while she slept.

We drove home in one day on Sunday, Emilee helped "drive" the car during one of our stops.
We had a good trip and enjoyed spending time with the family.  We'll spend more time with them in about a month in California on the beach.  Emilee was a trooper who let us haul her all over the place without much complaint.  Hopefully upcoming trips are that easy, especially plane rides.

Okay, you know that a baby who sleeps so much and easily isn't normal, right? And I am very jealous that she does, in case you didn't know. :) Glad you guys get to do so many fun things with her!
