4 Months Old

Emilee is 4 months old. She is such a wonderful baby that gives us very little trouble. Of course now that I've said that she'll change her ways. Emilee had her doctor's visit today and is 10 lbs. 11 oz. and 23.5 inches long. She is only in the 3rd percentile for her weight- a skinny baby. Here are some things about Emilee-

- She is very good with her hands. She can already grab her pacifier, move it from hand to hand, and get it into her mouth. This is nice when she loses it in her crib because if it is in reach she can usually get it back in her mouth.

- She is a great sleeper. Once she is tired she goes straight down to sleep. She has started to curl her bum up to sleep in a little ball. She sleeps 12 hours most nights, not waking up until 9 a.m. to eat. This probably is saving my sanity in these last few months of work.

- She is a very smiley baby. When she is awake she is quick to smile, especially at friendly faces.

- She has an adorable laugh and laughs at the most random things- usually unusual noises.

- She knows how to roll over from her stomach to her back. She did it a few rare times over two weeks, then in one weekend she became adept at it and does it all of the time now. The only time it is annoying is when she rolls over in the middle of the night and can't roll back over onto her stomach to sleep and starts to cry.

- She holds her hands when she eats. When she knows her food is coming she clasps her hands to get ready. I think it is so cute and funny that she always does this. I'm glad I took the time to capture this for future memories.

Chris and Emilee watched the KU elite eight basketball game together. Luckily KU beat UNC and we could celebrate.

This was Chris watching the last few minutes while holding Emilee. Normally he is jumping around or pacing at the end of games, so it was nice to see him calmly enjoying it with his daughter.

Well, that pretty much sums it up here. Chris complains that I never blog about us anymore, that we no longer exist. That is is just all about Emilee. I keep telling him we are boring and we aren't doing anything blog worthy. Going to work and coming home to relax isn't very stimulating storytelling. And when we do an occasional exciting thing we don't have any pictures to document it. Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll have some blog worthy adult activities. Ta-ta for now.
