After grandma Hunsaker left, Grandma Shore came to help. We only had one night, a little over 24 hours, between grandmas, so we were quite spoiled. Grandma Shore enjoyed seeing her newest granddaughter, and was a huge help. Emilee even slept a few of her rougher nights with Grandma to give mom a much needed break. There were a few nights her second week of life where she didn't want to sleep in her own crib and/or mom was still figuring out nursing versus pacifying. I think I got maybe 2-3 hours of sleep on those nights before mom helped.
I took Emilee to church on her second sunday, but only for sacrament meeting. On her third Sunday we stayed a little longer and Emilee got to wear her new church dress. She looked adorable in it.
We obviously took a ton of pictures her first month, especially at the beginning. Chris really likes this one because he says she looks like she is playing the air guitar.
On December 19th, when Em was 3 weeks old, her grandma S., her and I packed up and went on her first plane ride. We flew to Utah to spend Christmas with her family. She was a perfect angel on the flight and I hope the return flight will go as smoothly because I will be flying it solo. Chris flew out to join us a couple days later, after he finished working. He will also fly home a couple days before us- we saved $300 by booking this way.
My mom and I took Emilee to have her newborn pictures taken at a place called Camera Shy a couple of days after getting to Utah. I was impressed with the quality for the price. Here is a small sampling of the pictures.

Emilee slept through most of Christmas, as expected. She got a few presents, but not many because we requested that she not get presents, since she really didn't need any this year. Here is Emilee with a few of her presents:
Emilee has spent the past two weeks meeting family, being held by family, and partying with family. She has had quite a busy first month.
Here is Great-grandma Hunsaker holding her on Christmas.
This is Emilee being held by her Hunsaker cousin Christian. He wasn't quite as excited about Emilee as his sister, but he still likes her just the same.
There were a few other events that have happened this week, but those will have to wait until the next post. Chris and I have thoroughly enjoyed having Emilee in our lives and can't wait for the many months to come growing and learning with her. She has wrapped us around her little fingers and we love her completely.
