On Saturday I finished reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I will admit that for the first 80 or so pages I wasn't quite sure what to think of it. I didn't hate it, but I wasn't madly in love with it either. J'see didn't seem to have quite that problem, but she claims it is because she is used to reading sci-fi more than I am. This could be the culprit. After I got through those first pages I fell in love with this book. It is very much Stephenie Meyer's writing which I have loved in the Twilight series. I must say that it is definitely less fluffy though, not to make any less of my love for that series. The Host definitely has many more thought provoking moments within it. Like has been said by others, it raises many thoughts about what being human means. It also made me wonder about the issue of right vs. wrong in those grey* area cases. I loved this book and felt that Stephenie showed herself to be a great writer in an area other than Twilight. Let me know what you think when you finish it.Note* I have been accused of mispelling a word in this post- according to beloved family members grey should be spelled gray. According to American Heritage Dictionary: gray 1 also grey: Of or relating to an achromatic color of any lightness between the extremes of black and white. Don't question the English teacher.

Well my book finally came Monday evening. I am only on page 45, but I am hoping to read more on the plane to Florida. I have had some hard times getting through the chapters, but I really liked the dream chapter and since then I have been more interested in it. I will post on it when I finish!
