Last night Chris and I saw history happen. Craig Biggio got his 3000th hit at Minute Maid Park against the Rockies. Biggio was 3 hits away when the game started. The stadium was packed with fans hoping to see the hit. But few really believed it would happen that night. Craig approached the plate during the first inning and got nothing. This further increased the feeling that the 3000th hit wasn't going to happen that night.
But the 3rd inning came up and for the second time that night the entire crowd was on its feet yelling B-G-O, B-G-O. Biggio hit a single to get hit 2998! The crowd was loving every minute of it. The 5th inning came around and Biggio was up again, which meant the crowd was on its feet cheering again. This time Biggio hit the ball toward the third baseman who overthrew the first baseman, allowing Biggio to advance to second base. The crowd, team, and announcers waited with bated breath for the official scorer to make the call. After what seemed like agonizing minutes the official decision was in . . . hit 2,999!!! The crowd went crazy. Biggio was now just one away. We would see Biggio again in the 7th inning. Biggio was up and the crowd was even crazier than before, because this could be it. The cameras were flashing all over the ballpark, including ours. We heard the crack of the bat and the ball was out to centerfield.

Biggio took off and rounded first, heading to second. He slid and got out, but the hit was good. Biggio was officially Mr. 3000!!!! The crowd was going crazy.
The team rushed out onto the field to celebrate with Biggio, along with his two ball boys sons. His wife and daughter soo
n joined them. Chants of B-G-O were coming from the crowd again. The ballpark lifted the 3000 hits banner and flashed 3000 on the screens. History had been made. When the team headed b
ack to the dugout, Biggio found his dear friend Jeff Bagwell and pulled him back onto the field with him. He wanted to share the moment with Bagwell.
The game resumed and the excitement didn’t end there. The Astros found themselves down by a point in the eighth inning. Biggio came up in the ninth again and got himself another hit. This made him 4 for 5 that evening. We ended up being able to tie the game in the ninth, putting the game into extra innings. No change in the tenth inning, which meant that Big
gio was up again in the eleventh inning. The crowd was still getting on its feet and cheering loudly every time Biggio was up to bat. Biggio got another hit, making him 5 for6 that game and giving him 3002 hits. After Biggio’s hit Hunter Pence hit a double moving him and Biggio up into scoring positions. Then the pitcher hit Lance Berkman, walking him. Bases are loaded, and Carlos Lee, the power hitter, is up. The pitcher threw the ball, and Carlos Lee nailed it toward right field. It was going, going, gone! This was the best possible game ever. I feel sorry for the morons that went home when we were down 4 to 1 after Biggio’s hit. They missed out. It was an extremely exciting game.

I could not tell you one thing about baseball(well maybe a couple), but that is because jer is not interested in it. however, basketball(caveliers specifically) is another story along with hunting and fishing. i could probably tell you everything there is to know about those subjects. where before i met him i knew a little her and there about any of it. hope your enjoying yourself.
It is amazing. My family knows better than anyone that I grew up hating baseball. But now here I am actually enjoying it. It still isn't as good as soccer or football, but it can be enjoyable.
